Art of Animation

Hey guys! So I am SO excited for this blog because this is my absolute personal favorite! Drum role please… Art of Animation! This resort is full of eye-catching colors and familiar characters seen all through the property! So let’s go a little deeper into the details of this resort, shall we?

Art of Animation is the perfect vacation spot for families who love the classic works of Disney and the creative art that goes into the films! This artistic feel is even embraced as you look upon the outside of the lobby! Shapes and colors used in the making of films are spread across the exterior wall as well as portraits of the themed movies (The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Cars)

As you enter the lobby you’ll find a grand chandelier decoration containing sketches from the movies; this look is themed to look like the animators brain:). The front desk area is also lined with sketches of the evolution of the Disney characters! The lobby also includes a fabulous gift shop and a themed dining area with an extensive menu.

Once you exit the lobby you will find a ginormous swimming pool known as, “The Big Blue Pool,” themed by Disney’s movie, “Finding Nemo.”  This is the largest resort pool in any Disney resort. This pool is even equipped with underwater speakers so the magic continues even when under the water. Beside this pool is also a water play area for younger children to have a gnarly time with Crush the turtle’s son squirt! There are also two smaller pools: The Cozy Cone Pool (Themed by Cars) and The Flippin’ Fins Pool (Themed by The Little Mermaid). Last thing that I’m going to say about the pools is that it also includes “The Drop Off” a bar offering either snacks or a fantastic drink!

In my next few blogs Ill go over all of the amazing rooms available for you to stay in! The themes of these rooms are The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Cars!

Art of Animation is a place where imagination roams free and the magic of Disney comes to life! If you decide to have a night out or soak up the sun by The Big Blue pool this resort has it all!

Thank you for reading and have a magical day!

Port Orleans: French Quarter

Hey guys! So ever since school began, every minute of the day is taken up! But I’m so glad to be able to continue! Alright so let’s begin!

Port Orleans, as I stated in my past post, is the best place to go to enjoy the old South! Today I’m going to go over the French Quarter section of the hotel. The French Quarter is as the Disney website states, “Where cobblestone streets, gas lamps, wrought-iron balconies and fragrant magnolia blossoms evoke the Antebellum era.” (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/port-orleans-resort-french-quarter) This hotel is themed towards the vibrant colors of Mardi Gras.

Unlike the Riverside resort, the French Quarter resort only contains one style of room. But this room comes with different views, such as the standard, garden, river, and pool. The room also has a king sized bed which sleeps two adults. The regular room contains two queen beds and the room fits four adults. The prices of the rooms vary depending on the time of year.

The bedrooms all contain a full bathroom decorated with an aged brown counter and the opening to the bathroom is decorated by an elegant border. The shower/tub/toilet contains white tile and vibrant mix between green, blue, white, and yellow. Like all rooms, it contains complementary Wi-Fi, TV, and a coffee set. There is a cushioned bench with a light green cushion,  a table and two chairs with the same cushion and a dresser in a two-toned brown décor. The beds contain white blankets/sheets, two long white pillows, one decorative pillow with the colors of gold and purple. The headboard to the bed is a darker brown with a royal design. The last portion to the bed are the purple, gold, and white throw blanket.

This section of the resort has many fun recreations for the family to enjoy.  One of those being, the crystal clear pool containing a thrilling waterslide. Two other wonderful experiences offered by Disney; Surrey bike rentals and horse drawn carriage rides.

Port Orleans: French Quarter is full of not only magic, but grand fun walking through the luscious greens of the old South. From the relaxation of a night in to a gentle ride down the river while traveling down to Downtown Disney.

Thank you for reading and have a magical day!

Port Orleans: Riverside Resort (Part 2)

Port Orleans: Riverside Resort… All I can say is wow! It is full of family entertainment while providing a unique place to stay in! In my last post I wrote about the food, fun, and the outdoor area. In this blog post I’m going to focus more on the rooms you can stay in. In the Riverside resort, there are three differently decorated rooms with multiple options of views!

The main and typically chosen room option, is the standard Riverside room. It is a room full of relaxation and comfort, while giving us that frog in the bayou feel to it. The walls are painted a light yellow color while the flooring is light brown wood. It comes with a full bathroom and two queen beds; as well as a child-size pull down bed. The beds are a darker brown wood and white blankets and a detailed pillow with a picture of the main gator character in the “Princess and The Frog” movie; Louis. The bed also contains a mixture of blue colored throw blanket. This room has the option of a garden view, a standard view, and preferred room. The price of all rooms in all hotels, including this one varies depending on the time you are going.

Another room option is another standard Riverside room, with different decorations. This room has a light green wall color and a patterned beige and maroon carpet. The beds are very similar to the other, only difference is the throw pillow has a pattern, not a silly gator and the design of the bed;) The Riverside room also contains two queen beds and one child-size pull down bed. This also comes with a full bathroom and the option of many different views. The viewing options are a lovely river view and a pool view.

The last and most extravagant room is the Royal Guest Room! This room is a grand room for the special guests of Princess Tiana. The room comes with two queen beds with a highly decorated backboard. The backboard is a painting of the vibrant firework show in the bayou, which actually lights up. The best is a lovely dark brown with many lights outlining the top. The bed consists of a normal white blanket with a gold throw pillow and multicolored throw blanket. The flooring is a blue patterned carpet with a design of a royal rug. This room also has many other unique decorations that are shown in the picture below. The Royal Guest Room has many breathtaking views such as the garden view, standard view,  river view, and pool view. This room is more expensive compared to the other rooms, but is worth it when you get a great time out of it!

As you can see, Port Orleans; Riverside resort is a great destination for anyone looking for a good time! This Resort holds so much more than I can fit in a single (or in this case double;)) blog post! Feel free to ask questions and I’ll do my best to answer!

Thanks for reading and have a magical day!

Port Orleans: Riverside Resort

Disney offers so many family friendly resorts full of interesting art and friendly decorations. One of Disney’s newer resorts is known as Port Orleans. Port Orleans consists of two sections; The Riverside resort and the French Quarter Resort. Both are breathtaking, but today I want to focus on the Port Orleans: Riverside Resort. The Riverside Resort is a great destination for a good time on the bayou. The Resorts decoration is based on the famous Disney Film, “The Princess and The Frog.”

The Riverside section of the resort is full of various things to do, RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR HOTEL! From fishing in the sparkling river to feasting on some local New Orleans foods! All of this is just a calming stroll away! In the area where you check in is a dazzling view of their great river. If you’re having a stressful day, drop a fishing line into the river for some kick back relaxing time. The Port Orleans: Riverside Resort is extremely close to the famous “Downtown Disney.” To travel there, you have the option of bus, car, or a gorgeous ride down the river by boat. The views of the draping greens and blooming flowers is a sensation joy.

Want just a relaxing night in with some comfort food? Walk inside of the dining room where live music flows through the room. Whether you want the American classics or some local Orleans’s foods, you get that great choice! Right by the food area is a bar with live jazz for all to enjoy. All of this and more is available in the Port Orleans: Riverside Resort!
